Philosophy of Education

The threads which unravel childhood are as delicate as the child they are bound to, and careful is the weaver who helps them wind and reshape, guiding those fragile strings along the pathways that circumscribe life. These weavers, cautiously and not haphazardly must understand this tapestry of life, this essence of humanity, for if each child is to find his or her own place in our world, they need a vast array of skilled weavers who are willing to leave an indelible mark in the nature of their design.

Every educator plays a weaving role in a child’s life.  The educators that are remembered, the educators that leave a mark, do so by extending respect for  children by acknowledging who they are and where they come from, continually challenging them to be their best, making every effort to ensure an environment in which children feel loved, accepted, respected and valued. After all, every human being has their place in the grand design of humanity. There are no mistakes.

It is when children have room to grow in such an environment that not only learning but passion for learning begins to take place as children make connections between the curriculum and their lives. After all, learning is a lifelong process and educators provide the seeds of impetus for exploring life, allowing children the opportunity to grow and shape into the individuals that will one day shape our world.
